This idea is great for younger children as it’s all really magical for them. Most cities have puppet show artists that you can hire. Super easy and you don’t have to be in charge of too many activities or games!

The puppet production groups will often have multiple shows that can fit within your party theme. If they don’t advertise one that you think will work for you, feel free to ask them if they could put one together for your particular theme. These folks are often very creative and can come up with a show very easily.

Resources: The puppeteer for this party was Penny’s Puppet Productions for Birthday Fun.

This keeps the kids busy while others arrive and gives you something to direct them to immediately.

The boys decorated cardboard shields purchased already cut and glued a handle on to the back. Then the girls project was to decorate their own party crown. Again, the hats/crowns were purchase and then the kids glued on adornments and colored on them. Both a nice compliment to the want and swords that were given as favors.

Using your tea set at the party may be the only thing I recommend pulling out. It’s not breakable and only moms will be handling it. Yet, you get to set it out and your little Princess feels really special being able to use it.

Don’t have one yourself? Borrow your mother’s or your neighbor’s. Most likely they don’t use their set very much either and would be thrilled for it to get some use. Have a fun tea party!

And the table can be quite elegant without being breakable!

First off this mom rented tables and chairs that were just the right height for the kids. Everything is more fun for them when the don’t have to struggle to eat or see things. Simple lilies were placed in the center of each table and they smelled sooooo good. Plates and “silverware” were purchased to look like china plates and were pre-placed around the table. Add some lovely napkins and your platters of food and possibly the cake or dessert and your table is all decorated with very little effort!

Resources: The cake was purchased at Bakery Bar in Portland, OR. China looking plates were purchased at Costco. Beautiful napkins can be purchased at many higher end groceries and gift/card shops.

This might have been the most beautiful Princess Party Cake I’ve ever seen. Nothing makes a party more special for a birthday girl than to have a fabulous cake. And this is that cake!

These folks are truly artists with fondant. I have been to another party where they make the cake ans it was equally as beautiful. Just amazing. They are in Portland, OR. Not sure if they will ship the cakes or not. But even for your own idea, this was a beautiful Princess Party Fondant Cake and it also tasted great……which is always a plus……

Just have a few things for them to play with that are boy related and they are good to go. When they are young they really don’t care that the decorations are pink!

These inflatable swords are a perfect gift for the boys as they love to exert that testosterone! These were blow up swords that were given as favors and are super easy to blow up. They don’t blow the budget, they are sizable and you will get lots of play out of them.

Or just bonk others on the head……hopefully not…..but you never know.

Anyway, having these simple wands as favors are perfect. You can certainly purchase wands like these or you can make them as well. Simply cut out two stars and hot glue them together with a dowel in the center. You might spray paint the dowels black first. After they are all glued together, you can glitter your wands.

These princess party favors have each child’s name typed out on a flag in an old english font and taped on to the handle to insure all the kids at the party receive a favor.

Or at least it is one of the elements to keeping them happy. So, the most important thing is to feed them things that they will and want to eat!

Mask any sandwich in an interesting design and kids will eat them. For a Princess Party, cut your sandwiches in a crown design. These were cut with a cookie cutter in the shape of a crown. There were two choices: a cheese sandwich and then a peanut butter sandwich.

In addition to the sandwiches, the Princess Hostess served platters of fruit and cut veggies. That always keeps the moms happy. And it’s very easy to cut up and have prepared ahead of time!

Resources: If you put in a google search “Princess Crown Cookie Cutter” you will come up with many results for the cookie cutter that was used here.

If not because you can’t find the one you like but can’t narrow down the ones you like. I hope the latter is not you because we are about to introduce a great card site. For this Princess party we were invited to, the hostess found Inviting Company and their invitations are too cute. You should take a look at their site.

This was a party for girls and boys so the wording in the invitation reflected such.

If you want to get away from the Disney Princess items that are all over the place, take a look at these Princess crown items.

These note cards were used for thank you notes for a Princess Birthday Party. Even if your little loved one, it is very important to write a note thanking guests for gifts especially if you did not open the gifts in front of your guests.

We have also featured a Princess Invitation that coordinates with this Thank You Note.
