Super Hero Party Games

What better for a Superhero Birthday Party than having a Superhero Obstacle Course? The game part of this party was left up to the dad and I’d have to say that he rose to the challenge. This Superhero party was for kids age 3 to 6 and a simple obstacle course was all new to them. No timing was done. Just simple go through the game and finish…..before the rain comes.

A funny or not-so-funny side note is that the sky was clear for this whole party. Then when it came time for the game, the rain started coming down. But you know what? The kids didn’t care. They went through the course and had just as much fun!

The first part of the course was to run through hoola hoops. 6 Hoola Hoops were set up and even the shortest of kids could run through them.

After than they were to run in and out of these short orange cones. I could also be fun to have them kick a ball through the cones if they are older and most on soccer teams. Nothing like a little dribble practice.

Stage 3 of the game was originally to shoot or hit a super hero mask that was nailed to a tree with a super hero squirt gun. Then the squirt gun promptly broke and a quick switheroo had to happen and the game was changed to throwing the super hero frisbee at the mask instead. Either works. A super soaker water gun could also be fun for this stage.

The grand finale of the game was to jump into a pile of sofa cushions. What is more fun for a kid than to jump into a pile of cushions? Nothing. My kids try and take off my cushions weekly! And we are telling them they have to jump into the cushions as part of the game? No…..you jest? Look how much air wonder woman got?

As far as the best Super Hero Games go for your birthday party, this one rocks.

Supplies Needed: Hoola hoops, frisbee, sofa cushions and small orange cones.

Superhero Party Favors

Superhero Party Favors

Believe or not, it’s really hard to find favors in the theme of superheroes. This hostess did a great job in searching out unique party favors that also fit in with the superhero theme.

Remember that this party had kids in the age range of 3 to 6 or 7. So, as favors, they gave puzzles, flash cards and comic books. Believe it or not the comic books in various superhero topics were HUGELY popular. I guess it’s because these guys see us looking through magazines all the time. When they get their own, it’s sooooo important and they loved them. It was like the party stopped with the big kids as all they wanted to do was to look at the comic books.

As we’ve been home all three favors have been popular items in our house and I’m sure they would be in yours as well.

Resources: Comic Books would need to be found at magazine stores that are in downtown areas or big cities or online.

Superhero Party Idea….details…..details

Superhero Mom

Superhero Mom

To me…..it’s all in the details. The mom and dad who threw this superhero birthday party were not going to be outdone by the kids in their fancy costumers!

Rather than looking silly and wearing adult superhero costumes, they wore superhero t-shirts to show their support to the birthday boy. Now, I’m am not saying that you can’t dress up yourselves as superheroes. Mom could be elastigirl….I feel like that anyway. But if there are any of you who can get your husbands to dress up in a superhero costume, more power to ya!

Resources: These T-Shirts were found in the boys section of Target. Who knows how long they will be available there but with so many cartoon junkies, I’m sure there will always be a resource for Superhero T-Shirts online somewhere!

Superhero Welcome Sign

Superhero Welcome Sign

When you have your birthday parties at home it can be more work sometimes as you have to clean up your house as well. But it can also afford you more flexibility with your party. As well as it offers more character.

Having banners around in bright colors is a great idea especially for a superhero party. Your home probably doesn’t have bright blue, yellow and red decor and that seems to be the theme colors of many superhero costumes.

Superhero Hall of Justice Banner

Superhero Hall of Justice Banner

The first banner the superhero guests saw was a welcome banner which guided them down to where the party started. This allowed the host and hostess to be down with their guests and not standing at the door directing traffic!

Where cake and sandwiches were service, the dining hall was called the “Hall of Justice.” There is nothing little superheroes like to inflict more than a little justice. When looking for impactful ideas for your superhero birthday party, having large colorful signs is an easy way to achieve that.

Resources: Colorful butcher paper and paints can be found at many teacher supply store, party supply stores or craft stores. Often they are in large rolls that allows you to roll off and buy only the amount you want. So, it would be important to know about the length of your sign before you go.

Superhero Cake Decoration

Superhero Cake

Superhero Cake

I love how the design on this superhero cake matched the image on the invitation! That can really tie a party together. That and colors. The bakery that my friend uses is called the Dessert Tray in Beaverton, OR. Not sure if they ship but I know there are bakeries out there that do offer shipping and will even do fun shapes.

But back to this superhero cake. Some folks think that the party is all about the cake. And I do not disagree with them. I am always up for a bite of cake. If I’m going to ruin my diet on cake, I want it to taste good and this one was delish!

It’s amazing what you can do with fondant. Any design you think of can be transposed on to a cake. There are even companies who will digitally copy an image on to the fondant! Anyway, I think it would be very hard to do a cake in the shape of a superhero and this solution worked out perfectly.

Superhero Birthday Party Invitation & Wording

Super Hero Birthday Party Invitation

Superhero Birthday Party Invitation

All super heroes are colorful and this invitation is a reflection of that. Produced by Tiny Prints, this was an invitation that we received for a 4 year old’s birthday party. My kids could not wait to go. You will hear me say over and over……the invitation sets the stage for a great party!

Wording for this super hero birthday party invite was such:
calling all superheroes
WILLIAM IS TURNING FOUR
join us for a super time &
dress as your favorite superhero
Date
Location
Regrets Only

Simple as that! It’s always a good idea with any card company to order invitations with a little time to spare. You just never know if they are going to be backed up or not and you don’t want to wait too long to get those invites out risking that families make other plans.

Who is not energized by Superheroes??? Whether it’s spider man or super man or elastigirl…..all kids love to dress up and dress up as superheroes.

One of my dear friends hosted a superhero birthday party at her home and incorporated many unique ideas that I’ll be sharing with you in the coming days. From invitations, to favors and the cake to special details…..nothing was overlooked.

Not only was the party festive but the kids dressing up made all the world of difference. It really puts a kid in the frame of mind of having a great time at a party when they get to dress up and use their imaginations.

This party was for a 4 year old. But with a little tweaking, a superhero party would be fabulous for many ages of kids or adults for that matter!
